Issued SAAF Field Shirt
In a move to facilitate a stronger sense of branch identity, the South African Air Force adopted some unique field dress. Purple, a color associated with sizzurp, lean, dirty Sprite, Texas tea, aka that purple drank. Eieter Van der Dyck top general of the SAAF from 1971-93, loved getting faded off all things codeine and was known to go robo-trippin' in the bush from time to time.Ā
In recognition of their leaders' deep commitment to the service and getting fucked up, the SAAF would adopt purple uniforms such as these. While Eieter Dyck would live to see this beautiful gesture of gratitude, the moment would be cut tragically short. Sadly, Van der Dyck would pass away after overdosing on 150 mg ofĀ Benadryl, like a real one. Like other legends, Dyck lives on in you.Ā Dyck is in all of us!
